My Yesterday

I have often said negative things both to out loud and to myself. Wrestling with the past, trying to make sense of the twists and turns. I grew up faster than most of my friends. Like most kids, when I was growing up I thought my parents didn’t understand what it was like to be a teen. I now understand my parents and their decisions since having loved and lost, having 3 wonderful children of my own, finding my soulmate, and learning to love being in my 30′s.

My Yesterday

I have looked back at the roads I have traveled

Wasted no time to push my luck and watch my life unravel

Tears no longer live here, fear no longer takes the wheel

Don’t know what I am doing and I know I’m not indestructable but I can heal

Feeling I need to live right now in case tomorrow never comes

Doing things beyond my years only made me feel so numb

The road became dark feeling I had to remember

My words once a beautiful fire, barely a glowing ember

I ran so hard to my trusted, believing in me through their blind eyes

Pushed me back to the ground so I could learn to walk wise

Many moments, many words fell hard on the ones I love

Today, I hold a piece of peace and a glimpse of everything below and above

Our Christmas Parade

My Family and I endured the cold to watch the Christmas parade. It was worth it because we had such a good time. A lot of thought went into the floats, most of which are done by students. I am sorry the pictures are not focused, I didn’t have the setting right on my camera. Merry Christmas to all and may you embrace and enjoy the holidays with your loved ones.

Let’s take a moment to remember the people who protect our freedom. Some of these pictures were sent to me in an email titled “Heaven on Earth.” The beauty we all take for granted sometimes is part of what our heroes fight for every day. Thanks to our veterans and military, we have the freedom to see our families, enjoy our friends, and watch our children grow. So I thought it would be nice to say thanks to all of the people who have served, fought, and/or died for our country… Thank you for all your sacrifices.

Gearing up for Halloween, every year our town hosts “Monsters on Mainstreet.” It is very safe and fun for all. Some may say we like to get into character a little early but most of the time this is normal. Hope you all have a great and safe Halloween!

Just Throwing It Out There

If you want to be a parent… Be one.

Don’t talk about it, don’t blog about it, don’t argue or complain about it. Just be there and be a good parent. It starts with putting yourself after your children no matter how your day or week is going. Once you bring a child into the world you lose your right to “Me first.” No matter how many problems you have, a parent never gets time off from their children’s needs. And they always need love.

And if your child states that they are trying to make you see what you are missing. Maybe you should actually listen because maybe your child is feeling like they are not a part of your life.

Again, if you want to be a parent… Be one. Take responsibility for your actions with your children. They don’t stay children long, time is precious and always moving forward. Make memories not regrets.

Bitter are the tears of a child: Sweeten them.
Deep are the thoughts of a child: Quiet them.
Sharp is the grief of a child: Take it from him.
Soft is the heart of a child: Do not harden it.

What A Graceful View

I didn’t realize how beautiful the sun rise, clouds, and fog could be so early in the morning, now I look forward to the graceful scenery that adorns my commute to work. These were taken three different mornings and I just had to share even though they were taken with my cell. I am planning on taking better pictures of this area soon.

Things You Might Find In Branson Mo.

Lol-This was too funny

These were taken going to or in Branson Mo. on vacation. Some were taken at Ripley’s Believe It or Not, some where taken in town on the strip.

1) This photograph was taken at Ripley’s, the statue was made from any and everything.

2) This is a drawing of a skull but can you see the images within it?

3) This is simply a genuine tribe member’s head from long ago and yet still a great conversation piece.

4) This was taken on the scenic route to Branson, we thought it was too funny.

We went to many places that I couldn’t take my camera so I didn’t get many pictures. So these are some that I thought were interesting. Hope you enjoy.

The creek

When the hurricane rains our town the rain was relentless. The rain stayed with us for a few days causing some flooding. Little Rock and other parts of Arkansas was hit very hard, our town was lucky. I know other states are still recovering. We had a camping trip that was cancelled, then uncancelled, and finally cancelled on the day of due to the dam being opened to help the water to receed back to normal range. We were disappointed but with the waters moving so fast we couldn’t fish or anything. We are going to try again before it gets too cold. These pictures were taken the day after the hurricane left Arkansas, some of which are beautiful.
